The area is also known as the Sailfish Capital of the World. Lake Okeechobee, located near the southern center of the state, is world-renowned for its bass fishing. And saltwater flats fishing is a local favorite as well. Disney World, Cape Kennedy, and Miami are a two-hour drive to the northwest, north, and south respectively, while Palm Beach is one-half hour to the south.

Should you feel the need to "get away" from your Florida Paradise, the Bahamas and the Carribean Islands are a few pleasant hours boating to the east.
